You have so many dreams, goals, and ideas for the new year. Your intentions are good, yet life always seems to get in the way. Days turn into weeks, weeks into months, months into years and years into a lifetime. Before you know it, those big amazing dreams can easily get lost in the mix of daily tasks. Make this year different. Create a vision board using these 5 easy steps to gain focus, practice intentionality, and put those dreams into the universe so that they can actually happen. Grab your phone, printer, paper, glue, and scissors! Let’s get at it!

1. PIN INSPIRATION PHOTOS

Use Pinterest to gather inspiration photos on your phone that represent the dreams you have for the year. Think about the very best version of you. Get specific! What are you wearing, eating, drinking, reading, watching, smelling? Consider all areas of your life. Pin the images that resonate with you the most. A tip: gather as many photos as you like to start without thinking too much. Then, refine afterward.

2. PRINT PHOTOS FROM YOUR COMPUTER

Print your pinned photos. Go to the Pinterest app on your computer and take screenshots. Here, I selected compact view in the app to squeeze more images on a page before printing, and to make sure they were the right size for my little planner book. If you want the images larger, stick with the traditional view. I also used thicker card stock paper to make it extra nice and higher quality.

3. GRAB SCISSORS, GLUE, + YOUR BOARD

I like to get crafty here and have a printed vision board so I can easily glance at it throughout the day rather than a virtual one just on a phone or computer. So, get out those scissors and glue and tap into your elementary school vibes. Next, consider what surface would be best for you. I chose to create my vision board in my planner. You could also use a poster board or bulletin board!

4. BE FREE + FUN!

Cut out your photos and glue them to the page. I opted to do it quickly (and on Insta live – check out the video here!) so I didn’t overthink it too much as I wanted this whole process to be fun and free! I did keep in mind of spacing out all the colors so it looked visually appealing and to guide my eye around the page from big dream to big dream!

5. LOOK AT YOUR VISION BOARD DAILY!

Now that you’ve created an OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD VISION BOARD, keep it in a spot where you’ll see it every single day. Mine is in my planner. (This handy quarterly planner by Savvy Bee is super helpful in goal setting and staying organized!) So as I plan out the days, weeks, and months, I can keep my big dreams top of mind and in focus. If you choose to paste your images to a poster board or bulletin board, be sure to display where you always see it.

BONUS TIP: REVIEW YOUR VISION BOARD QUARTERLY

Since my planner is a quarterly one, I’ll be revising my vision board every three months throughout the year. No matter where your vision board lives, I think it’s a great idea to come back to it regularly. Some dreams you’ll accomplish. Others might change. New ones will emerge. This should be a living, breathing, fluid board that’s filled with tons of inspiration so that you can move toward the best version of you every single day and step into the future with ease, and fun! I’m cheering for you!

In fact, this year I’ve started offering 1:1 coaching for those who’d like to take their lives, and businesses, to the next level. If that’s you, let’s get at it. Together! Drop me an email at carolyn@carolynbowles.com to get started. Also email me to share your vision board. I’d LOVE to see it and hear all about your big, crazy, yet totally do-able dreams!
