As the glowing sun sprinkled through the trees, I knew with every step I took to get to the lush backyard that I was walking into something really special. It was Mother’s Day and I was about to photograph a family of four generations. I was so happy that this family decided to make their session part of the day’s festivities. The scene was set for a glorious morning as delicious light filtered through the branches, all were dressed in gorgeous outfits, and a celebratory brunch would follow the session. And to top it off, I was greeted not by usual handshakes, but with big warm hugs. That’s right, the great-grandparents—or mimi and papa as so many affectionately call them—made me feel like part of the family right away. Simply wonderful. Like I said, I knew it’d be special.
Mimi and papa are blessed with an incredible family, and among them the sweetest little great-granddaughters. I loved how they interacted with each other.
Of course for Mother’s Day it was really special to get a photograph of mommy with her little girls. And I was so glad she let me grab a quick snapshot of her too! Doesn’t she just look so radiant?
We ended the session with some playtime of hopscotch, hula hoop, and simply being goofy. Plus, I couldn’t end without getting a photo of those red hot shoes.
Thank you z family for inviting me to such a special Mother’s Day event. I loved being part of your family celebration!
