This sweet family of five just returned from living in Geneva, Switzerland for a few years. They are now back in Cincinnati living in temporary housing while their gorgeous new home is being built, and just couldn’t wait to squeeze in a session before their baby turns one year old. I’m so glad they didn’t hesitate! We had the most fun session, and I adore the images we documented of all three kids. This first photo is the very first one I took of our summer evening session. Yes, this baby was simply tickled pink to be placed in the thick soft grass. Of course at that moment, I knew we’d have a good time together and hit it off.

The older brother and sister had fun running around playing together too. This whole family was so good to each other, it was a joy to be around them all. I just love their happy little faces!

Here are some sweet black and white ones of the littlest sister. She was all over the place exploring the grass, my camera, mulch, and anything she could get her tiny hands on. I loved her energy and spunk and go-with-the-flow attitude. What a sweetheart! I am so glad we got these baby portraits in before she starts walking and becomes a full-fledged toddler. There’s nothing quite like the first year of life.

We ended the night with a splash in the baby blow-up pool and a few cool treats of popsicles. And, it was mommy’s birthday, which made it all extra special. Thanks L family for having me over. Your full gallery will be finished this weekend!

I love this family. They are so warm, caring and always up for anything! Like an early morning picnic on a hot, steamy July day. And let me tell you, it was hot. But they are so willing to go with the flow and do whatever necessary to have fun and get the shot. My kind of people!
On my way to our session I saw this new location from the road and had only a few minutes to check it out for myself—just enough time to run to the spot, take a few test shots, and run back to my car. When I phoned the family to tell them of my new place, they were up for the adventure and we headed out there together. As you can see, it was a gorgeous field with tall grasses—perfect for our summer spread, and some great photos!
Last time I photographed this family (see earlier on the blog), we focused on documenting the life of the kids. This time we got mommy and daddy in front of the camera. How special to have portraits of the whole family playing and having fun together.
The mom was organized with a beautiful picnic basket filled with yummy goodies. Souffles, pastries, and juices all wrapped in pretty linens. I loved how she happily set out the food for all to enjoy. She even had something for me to eat! Definitely a great way to start a session.

I love the laid-back, easy-going feeling of these family images. The lighting is just dreamy too.

This is one of my new all-time favorite portraits. So simple, so beautiful.

This little guy with a yellow daisy in hand is just as sweet as the flower itself.

And we managed to get this adorable duo together for a sibling shot. Bright, shiny red chairs will do the trick!

Thanks P family for the joy and honor of photographing your family again. I loved our summer session together!
