Once you book your special session, I get started working with you to create a photo session that’s as unique as you. The more energy we can put into the planning stage, the more amazing your portraits will be in the end. Here are some things to consider as we prepare for the special day:
DAY, TIME, & LOCATION
Sessions are held every Saturday and Sunday in the late afternoon/early evening when the light is soft just a few hours before sunset. I will come to your home or any special location of choice. Think backyards, small towns, ice cream shops, playgrounds, city streets, and any other place that is special to you or your family.
WHAT TO WEAR
When it comes to clothing, what you choose to wear should reflect your individual spirit. Whether that be bold, funky, whimsical, grunge, sweet, bright, charming, modern, or serene, I want to photograph the authentic you. So leave those starched white shirts and pressed khakis behind for something far more interesting—your true style and self! Keep in mind too accessories such as shoes, jewelry, watches, scarves and jackets add interest, texture, and layers to your portraits.
MAKEUP & HAIR
If you’re a graduating senior girl, it’s strongly recommended you have makeup and/or hair done professionally prior to your session. It’s amazing how it gives your skin a delicious glow while adding subtle pops of color to your lips, cheeks, and eyes—all adding up to more polished-looking portraits.
Consider adding an element of styling by bringing a glass jar of flowers, special quilted blanket, favorite stuffed animal, or even that vintage piece of indoor furniture that would look so cool outdoors. Have fun thinking of unique ideas that will make your session super fun and you!
